Welcome to the brand new TVA website.  This site is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive coverage of volleyball throughout the state of Tennessee.  We are dedicated to promoting the sport in all areas and hope that you will give us feedback on how to improve.

Why Blue & Gold?

The reason that the Tennessee Volleyball Association has chosen the blue & gold colors is in honor of Coach John Wooden (long time coach of the UCLA Bruins).  Coach Wooden was perhaps the greatest coach of all time and won an unprecedented 10 National Championships while at UCLA (7 in a row).  More important than all his on the court success, however, was how Coach Wooden taught the game – with integrity, character, patience, and a love for his players.  It is my hope that the coaches who work for the Tennessee Volleyball Association can live up to the standard that Coach Wooden has set for excellence & character.  We wear blue & gold to honor his memory and to remind us that there is more to life than the sports we coach.
